About us
שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל
Obedience with work gloves on
A congregation-rooted family of servants
Widows Might began with a simple question: who fixes the leak when there's no husband in the house, and who teaches the boy to check the oil when there's no father in the driveway? We are tradesmen, mothers, mechanics, retirees and young people from the congregation and the community who answer, “We will.”
We keep Shabbat and the appointed feasts, and we schedule our work around them. Every volunteer is approved, and two adults are present whenever children are involved.

Words that carry the command
אַלְמָנָה
almanah · Widow
Related to a root meaning “silent” or “bound” — one left without a voice at the gate. We come to speak and act for her.
יָתוֹם
yatom · Fatherless
One bereaved of a father. Yahweh calls Himself “Father of the fatherless” — and calls His people to stand in that gap.
צְדָקָה
tzedakah · Righteousness
Often rendered “charity”, it means doing what is right. Caring for the widow is not optional kindness; it is obedience.
What we believe
- Yahweh is the one true Elohim, Creator of heaven and earth.
- Yeshua the Messiah is the Son of Elohim, our Redeemer, who walked in perfect obedience to the Torah.
- The Torah is good, set-apart and still instructs His people in righteousness.
- Shabbat and the appointed feasts are Yahweh's set-apart times, and we guard them.
- Care for the widow and fatherless is a command, not a suggestion.
“Learn to do good! Seek right-ruling, reprove the oppressor, defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.”
